Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVAL AND VISIT NGAMBA ISLAND

On setting foot at the airport, you will find our driver guide set to drop you off at the beach of Lake Victoria, from where you set off for Ngamba Island on a small and intimate boat. Ngamba is a pristine island in Lake Victoria where chimpanzees rescued from different parts of Africa are rehabilitated.

Day 2DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

In an effort to make this 9-hour journey less exhausting, the trip will take a road trip format with enough stopovers at unique attractions along the way, like the Igongo Cultural Museum and the Equator. You will drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, a gem at the heart of the Albertine Rift Valley.

Day 3GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI

The gorilla adventure here will give you that distinct feeling that you humans are still closely related to gorillas despite having undergone evolution. A big alpha male might come down from the trees and lay relaxed on the ground, chewing, right next to you. Even though you will be very close, you will not feel threatened, as all members of the family are not violent towards humans. This follows a successful habituation they underwent. The proximity will allow you to discover why gorillas are said to be as smart as chimpanzees, although quite laidback.

In the evening, you will visit the Nkuringo Cultural Centre or CTPHs coffee experience, depending on which one is closer to the lodge you chose to stay at.

Overnight at a lakefront resort overlooking Africa’s second-deepest lake, Bunyonyi.

Day 4Boat excursion on Lake Bunyonyi

After a sightseeing boat cruise around Lake Bunyonyi, depart for Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport.
